Malta’s Marsa Sports Complex, is a site of significant infrastructure investment around the development of a multi-sport complex. A key requirement for this particular phase, was to construct a permeable car park, able to provide a natural grassed appearance, but at the same time able to handle the rigours of haul activity. Car parking areas were constructed with 150mm thick Grasscrete GC2 paving, with monolithic solid concrete bay markings. A central solid pathway was also cast within the Grasscrete to enable easy movement of equipment. Since its completion the area has been subjected to heavy loading, including from this platform access truck hoisted on its jacking legs positioned directly onto the Grasscrete.
