This impressive hotel and casino resort in Limassol, Cyprus needed to establish parking for over 1000 cars in an overspill area beyond the immediate vista of the hotel, with a low maintenance surface.
Garasscrete was chosen for its cast-in-place reinforced concrete surface, as it was able to feature demarcation for individual parking bays using solid concrete panels, removing the need to paint and repaint the bays.

This installation at Hampton Court Flower Show, surrounded by Grasscrete, wasn’t without its challenges…
It required accurate setting out and the creation of a vertical edge surround to the pond.
Coloured concrete was used within the 100mm thick Grasscrete GC1 in a contrasting hue, taken from the dark grey of the car.
To meet the tight timescale of exhibition build-up the soil pockets to the Grasscrete were filled with turfs cut to the pocket shape enabling the effect to be gained immediately.
It certainly caused a splash!

A Reservoir Inspection identified the need to armour the ground around and between its overflow and by-wash channels at this site in Colne.
There were weight restrictions to the connecting wooden bridge, making for a difficult installation not seen by the original builder. The solution was found by temporary bridging with all materials introduced by a 360° tracked backhoe.
Grasscrete GC2 with a proven flow capability of 8 metres per second was selected for the armouring. As it is cast on site it was possible to follow the parabolic profile and the varying plan shape of the works, avoiding the potential for weakness that an alternative pre-cast method could have suffered.
Now complete, the Grasscrete is starting to take on the natural patina of the moorland landscape.
